Choosing the right component
What is the difference between carrying, return and impact rollers?
Carrying rollers support the loaded side of the conveyor belt. Return rollers support the belt on its return run. Impact rollers are intended for loading and transfer areas, where their rubber-ring arrangement helps support the belt under falling material. The correct selection depends on the conveyor layout and duty; identifying the installation position is a useful first step in an enquiry.
Can I order a replacement from a photograph?
A photograph helps identify the component type and understand the installation, but it does not show every fit dimension. Send a drawing or dimensioned sketch where possible. For a roller, include shell diameter, working length, overall length and shaft-end details. For a frame or pulley, the mounting arrangement and connected parts are also important. Note whether any dimension on a used sample has been affected by wear or damage.
How do I choose between a steel and polymer roller?
The selection should reflect the load, speed, environment, belt contact conditions and the design of the conveyor. A general material name does not establish that a roller is suitable for a particular application. Describe the conveyed material, moisture or corrosion exposure, operating conditions and any recurring maintenance issue so that the available options can be reviewed against your requirements.
Which industries do the components serve?
Our focus includes mining, quarrying, ports, cement production and other industrial bulk material-handling operations. The product selected for one site may need a different configuration at another site. Tell us about the material, loading conditions and environment as well as the industry name, especially where impact, abrasion, dust, moisture or material build-up affects the conveyor.
Drawings, customization and technical review
Can dimensions, shaft ends and surface treatment be customized?
Customer-specific dimensions, interfaces and finishes can be discussed as part of an enquiry. Provide the required drawing, explain what must fit existing equipment and identify any specified material or treatment. The proposed construction and available options need to be confirmed for the individual component. Customization should be documented in the final specification rather than left as an informal description.
Do you support OEM and ODM work?
We discuss OEM and ODM enquiries, including product identification, packaging and component modifications. A drawing or sample is useful for an existing design. For a development project, describe the intended function, space constraints and the problem to be solved. Product changes, branding and packing arrangements should be reviewed together with engineering and production before the order is confirmed.
What information is needed for a pulley enquiry?
Identify the pulley position and send the arrangement drawing. Include the available face width, diameter, shaft and bearing details, lagging requirement and drive information where relevant. These features interact with conveyor tension and the installation. Your engineering team should provide the design information available so that the discussion is based on the intended duty.
What information is needed for a conveyor belt?
Provide width, length, existing belt marking or required construction, and the operating application. Material temperature, inclination, load, environmental exposure and the condition of the existing belt can all matter. Include sidewall or pattern details where relevant. The final belt construction and cover specification should be agreed for the duty rather than copied from a different installation.
Inspection, commercial details and support
Can you provide inspection records or certificates?
State the document required, the product to which it must apply and the approval purpose when making the enquiry. The available document and its scope need to be reviewed for the order. A management-system certificate, material record, dimensional report and independent inspection are different requirements. See quality control for the information to confirm before production.
What are the price, minimum quantity and delivery time?
These depend on the component, specification, quantity, customization and delivery arrangements. Send the item list and destination so that the team can prepare a proposal based on your actual requirement. A general catalogue page is an introduction to the product; the quotation and confirmed order establish the applicable commercial terms and timing.
How should I request packaging and identification?
Explain any destination, handling or receiving requirement with the enquiry. If your stock code, drawing number or project item needs to appear on the package, provide the exact text and identify the corresponding item. For several similar parts, an item schedule helps keep variants and quantities clear through order review and shipment preparation.
Can I visit the factory or ask about an existing order?
Yes, contact the team to arrange the purpose, location and availability of a visit before travelling. The sales office and factory are in different cities, so confirm the meeting point. For an existing order, include its reference, item identification, photographs and a description of the question. Email joyce@hbjuming.com or use the contact page.
